got the news yesterday that I don't have thyroid cancer.

this is unlike saying that I don't have (for example) lupus, because it has actually been in question for the last couple months.

if I've seemed a little more detached or distracted than usual recently, that may have been a factor.

bulletins will continue on other conditions I don't have as they become (un)available.

[livejournal.com profile] opadit: I'll let you know when the insurance company tries to weasel out of not covering my tests.

Good grief. Glad to hear it. (May I ask, what led you to be tested for it?)

Congratulations. Do you also not have Lou Gehrig's disease?

Seriously, glad you're okay.

Yeah, if it were my insurance company, the answer would be, "Your coverage is an 'accident or sickness' plan. Your doctor has stated that you have no sickness. Therefore, we are not covering you. Have a nice day."

I found a small lump on the front right quadrant of my neck. it turns out to be a thyroid nodule, which apparently occur in a decent-sized subset of the population and are often entirely harmless.

apparently even when they're not, they're one of the easier cancers to contain and treat, but I'm glad I didn't have cause to test that.

no lou gehrig's disease.
isn't it a weird coincidence though that, of all the people in the world, lou gehrig was the one who happened to catch that?

No witty remark available at present; but sincerity abounds: Very relieved to hear you're OK. Keep us posted, pleeeze?

Glad you're OK so far. My Mom's feeling better. Remember I thought she had cancer? Well, now I think they switched her chart with somebody else.
