Feb. 8th, 2007 01:57 pmafter listening to it another 10 or 12 times, I'd like to correct my previous entry regarding Regina Spektor.
she's not ripping off Fiona Apple's schtick. She's ripping off multiple people's schticks including Sandy Denny, Tom Waits, Patti Smith and...yeah, kinda Fiona Apple too. And she's doing it fucking brilliantly.
the album is Begin to Hope. if you're Boutell, Klein or McGlynn - go buy it or steal it. if you're someone else, do whatever the hell you want.
also, the Strokes are stupid.
