I'm going to be in LA for four days this weekend.

There's an Ingres there that's part of a four-part series.

The other three are in the Louvre, the Tate, and the Met and I've seen all of them in person. I've been thinking for a couple years about taking a trip to LA specifically to check off the fourth. so...like...here's my chance!

now I just need to sleep with the two astrological signs I've missed, and alumnae from the three Seven Sisters schools that I've missed, and I can die with all of my checklists completed.

One of my friends from high-school, Irith lives in LA. She's a translator (Hebrew and Japanese to English) and a Scorpio, and I think you and she would get along well.

yeah, body worlds looks quite astonishing. I think that'll definitely have to be on the itinerary. (might be a little tricky, 'cuz I'm booked for meetings most of the daytime hours, but I think Monday just before flying out would be perfect.)

for cheesy fun, go to hollywood and highland blvds. and take a look at the hollywood walk of fame, the mann's chinese theater, and ripley's believe it or not. for extra cheesiness, there's a hooter's across the street. and universal citywalk is a lot of fun, with movies and great restaurants.

saddleranch at universal city is good, and so is beat it, an 80s club in hollywood...i'm from l.a. and i miss it horribly so i hope you have a great time for me!

I just moved to LA. I could tell you if you want spooky, creepy fun, go hang out at the various occult shop in Ventura. There are all sorts of drifters that blow around the streets of Ventura like tumbleweeds, too - leathery, tanned guys that look like they've been in the sun just a bit too long. It's a fun and spacey vibe.

Other than that, I've been shut up in a studio making monkey sound effects. (no really)
